Añadir al carritoTabloid. Condición: Good. Tabloid newsprint journal. Approximately 17 ¼ by 11 1/2 inches. Psychedelic illustrations throughout. Edited by Allen Cohen, The Oracle was known for is psychedelic designs and promotion of the counterculture/hippie lifestyle as experienced through the use of psychedelic drugs and Aquarian philosophy. It was designed at the Psychedelic Shop in Haight Ashbury, and published only 12 issues before ceasing publication, partially due to the belief that hippie culture was connected to mainstream consumer culture (see Heller, Merz to Émigré and Beyond pp. 190-191). This issue primarily devoted to the conception of an imaginary City of God, with ideas on architecture, social concerns, economics and technology infused with psychedelia and hippie ideals. With a piece on Buckminster Fuller. GOOD condition. Very faint center fold line present. Moderate to heavy toning to the paper. Minor creasing, chipping and tearing along the extremities.

Añadir al carritoTabloid. Condición: Good. no date, perhaps 1968, based on a copyright date on the front cover illustration. Tabloid paper format, 16 pp. 15 by 11 ½ inches. Color illustrations throughout. Unnumbered issue (former owner numbered this vol. 1, number 2, but we believe this to be the first and only issue) of this underground paper embracing the spiritual, cosmic and psychedelic side of 1960s counterculture. This is not the same as the San Francisco, nor the Southern California Oracle, but perhaps adheres to some unwritten code that California papers be named Oracle. Most of the interior is devoted to spiritual aphorisms, drawing heavily on religious teachings from India. GOOD condition. Issue number in ink on the front cover. Moderate general toning. Heavy offsetting along the spine. Tear present at the lower right corner of the front cover.
