Añadir al carritoCondición: Near Fine. Limited edition broadside from poet and musician Patti Smith, originally published in a signed edition of 99 numbered and 26 lettered; this copy from an unknown quantity unsigned and out of edition. A reproduction of handwritten notes on a typed poem. This copy from the collection of Smith's former lover and close friend Tom Verlaine. Verlaine (self-named after Rimbaud's lover, the poet Paul Verlaine) came up shoulder-to-shoulder with Smith in the early 1970s downtown New York music scene, with his band Television and Smith's group sharing billing at the earliest residencies of punk club CBGB's. While Smith and Verlaine would continue a close friendship for the rest of Verlaine's life, with Smith inscribing copies of virtually every piece from her prolific output to him over the years, this broadside is contemporary from the beginnings of their rich and storied relationship at the outset of both their careers. Offset (5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches) on glossy cream-colored paper. Printed to recto only Unnumbered; out of edition (99 numbered, 26 lettered).
