In these installations, Breitz isolates and repurposes found footage, dismantling its traditional narrative and aesthetic roles. The resulting pieces navigate a complex landscape, challenging the grammar and syntax of the material used. Through this approach, her works highlight the mechanisms of the mainstream media industry while reflecting on the profound emotional responses that pop culture can evoke, revealing a deeper complexity in viewer identification and projections.Published in conjunction with an exhibition by MUSAC, this book features essays by Octavio Zaya and Jessica Morgan, further elaborating on Breitz's artistic contributions. Multiple Exposure encapsulates her efforts to address the challenging disparities between culture and consumption, making significant contributions to contemporary discourse in art and media.
