Novel by a writer who is arguably the best satirist and humorist writing in English today - From a review by Michael Dirda of the Washington Post: 'More and more he is using his wit and brilliant talent for characterization and dialogue to attack every kind of intolerance, especially the imbecilities and cruelties of the modern nation-states.' Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fine. 1st Edition. Published by Doubleday, London; 2003. 352pp. 8vo. First edition, first impression. Condition: Fine/Fine. A beautiful example of this first edition, the thirty-first from the Discworld series. Bound in it's original black boards with gilt title to the spine, the binding is square and tight with barely a hint of bumping to the corners and spine ends, it is in very smart and collectible condition. Inside, the pages are clean and bright and free from blemishes or wear, with just a touch of toning to the pages. The dust jacket is also in smart condition, unclipped and as bright as the day it was published, illustrated by Paul Kidby. There is a little bumping to the spine edges, but it is otherwise in very smart, clean condition. In all, this is a particularly lovely example of this first edition, appearing barely read and in near perfect condition. It is the thirty-first instalment from Pratchett's phenomenally successful series, and It began as a strange fancy.Polly Perks had to become a boy in a hurry. And now, she's enlisted in the army, and is searching for her lost brother. But there's a war on. There's always a war on. And Polly and her fellow recruits are suddenly in the thick of it, without any training, and the enemy is hunting them. It would be the perfect addition to any book collection or an excellent gift for any lover of the Discworld series.
