All three volumes are so similar in condition that one description suffices and any exceptions noted below: red embossed cloth with bright gilted title on front , faded on spine ; light foxing to the fore edges;top edges a bit dusty; no pen or pencil marking inside the book only sporadic light foxing; most corners mildly bumped, a couple a little more with light fraying; volume 1 has a 1" tear at the top front edge of spine but does not effect tightness of book; volume 3 has a much smaller, maybe 1/4 " tear in the same place as Volume 1; Over all; a quite attractive set that is not only collectible but valuable as a resource. There is a most useful 4-page flyer produced by publisher with over 70 common questions related to bricklaying and the place within the volumes where the answer can be found: Here are a few of the questions along with the place in the volumes where the answer can be found: What are the varieties of bricks and their uses ?
