Because of condition, sold as is.

Paper Back. Condición: Good. The second edition of Field's first publication in book form. The cover and half title have the spine edge chipped away from the staples and both remain attached only along the top third. The forecorners are bumped and very lightly creased; there's a small chip at the bottom of the front panel; the rear panel is modestly soiled and has two longer creases near the forecorner. The interior is generally clean and the illustrations undamaged. Still a presentable copy of a rather scarce title.

Pictures by Hop. 16mo. 44pp. Brown pictorial wrappers. Text lightly foxed, covers have moderate wear on spine, slight chipping at top edge of first few pages, else a very good copy. Author's first book, published in 1881 as *Tribune Primer*, this 1882 edition has two extra pieces not contained in the 1881 edition. Seven Gables Bookshop, in their Catalogue 30 of "First Books," described the 1881 edition as "one of the top rarities in American literature." This 1882 edition is becoming increasingly scarce in the first issue, with the Brooklyn imprint, and especially in this condition.
