In addition there are 4 pages (blank, printed, blank, blank) inside the wrapppers. Map is in very good condition. Wrapper is a little faded on spine.

Condición: Good + overall. Map in original printed wrappers, the map printed with 8 different colors indicating the minerals found in New South Wales and a table at the top "Proclaimed Gold Fields". Printed facts on New South Wales for an American market (possibly issued for the Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia), and printed on the verso of each fold of the map are statistics on NSW starting with "advantages of NSW as a home for the emigrant". Folding map in original wrappers, engraved by G. W. Sharp, compiled and drawn by J. Tayler. The map in very good condition, with a very small chip at lower left corner. On the inside cover printed information concerning rail ways, telegraphs, banks, live stock, coal, diamonds, lead & silver, kerosene shale, iron ore, tin, gold fields, copper, land, crops, and wages. First edition. A fine and attractive map showing mineral deposits of gold, copper, diamonds "& other gems", silver, iron, tin, shale, and above all coal. With a list of the "Proclaimed Gold Fields" in the top left hand corner, and small inset of Australia in the bottom left. On the verso is printed "Advantages of New South Wales as a home for the emigrant" and useful statistics related to population, infrastructure, livestock, mineral deposits, land availability and the cost of provisions and clothing. On the inside front wrapper a comparison is made between Australia and America, with the advantages of Australia far outweighing those against America: "The Australian Colonies will therefore separately be larger communities than any of the States of America - a geographical difference that may involve important political differences".
