He produced numerous maps and atlases throughout his career, and helped establish France as a leading source of precise cartography. --- The work is in very good to excellent condition overall. There may be some faint offset or toning at the folds in this work; however generally very clean, presented well. There may be a few minor imperfections to be expected with age. Over a 50-year career, he produced many maps of particular interest to the Ministère de la Marine. His maps of Canada and of French territories in North America (New France, Acadia, Louisiana) are particularly valuable. . Condition: good, given age. Fold as published.
