The typefaces are Linotype Granjon and Ludlow Garamond. Printed on Strathmore Highway Book paper by the Black Cat Press, Chicago. Completed during the month of April, 1938." Gray cloth covered boards with gilt design to the front and gilt lettering to the spine. Fine in a Near Fine dust jacket, with a 1/4" closed tear at top edge front panel. RARE, and especially SIGNED by Forgue. One of the best books on the subject. Norman W. Forgue was an African-American bookmaker, typographer, and founder of several private presses, including At the Sign of the Gargoyle, The Black Cat Press, The Norman Press, and Normandie House.
