Añadir al carrito'Louis Armstrong and his Concert Band' program. Quarto, original wrappers, 14 pages, illustrated with black and white photographs of the band and its members. Signed by Louis Armstrong on the second page, and additionally inscribed by four members of the band on their respective pages: trombonist Trummy Young, "Sincerely Trummy Young;" clarinetist Barney Bigard, "Regards + Barney Bigard;" double-bassist Arvell Shaw, "Best wishes, Arvell Shaw;" and pianist Billy Kyle, "Sincerely, Billy Kyle." In very good condition. A scarce combination of signatures. American trumpeter, composer and vocalist Louis Armstrong was one of the most influential figures in the history of jazz. His career spanned five decades, from the 1920s to the 1960s, and he was renowned for his charismatic stage presence and recognizable voice almost as much as for his trumpet playing. Armstrong was one of the first popular African-American entertainers to "cross over," whose skin color became secondary to his music in an America that was extremely racially divided at the time.
