Covers worn with some heavy scrapes and surface peeling, good joints/hinges, sound text block, age-toned but clean pages, catalog section yellowed and foxed with additional darkening to outer margins, endpapers darkened and spotted with names on the front free endpaper. Hard Cover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

The binding is tight the hinges are strong. There are newspaper article glued inside the front & back covers. Book signed by Dr. Elderdice inside front cover at New Salem Hotel in McKnightstown, PA in 1868. The Gettysburg Times of June 29, 1936 reported that Dr. Elderdice enlisted in the Union Army in October 1862 at the age of 17 in Carlisle, PA and attended the Gettysburg Address by President Lincoln on July 28, 1863. Dr. Elderdice was a founder of the Adams County Medical Society in Gettysburg, PA on June 14, 1873. 1040 pages & 32 page Catalogue of Medical, Surgical, Scientific, and Miscellaneous Books, published by Lea and Blanchard, Philadelphia, 1847, pages have age spots.
