Añadir al carritoCondición: Very Good. Early beta draft typed & copied collected in three ring notebook by R. B. Leighton with foreword as follows: "These exercises represent a first attempt at devising a suitable set of practice problems to accompany the Feynman Lectures on Physics. They were used in approximately their present form during the year 1962-1963. Although the number of exercises is considerably greater than even a superior student can expect to solve, there is still a distinct need for even more exercises, particularly of a kind that are numerically or analytically simiple, yet inclusive and illuminating in content. A few such exercises turn up each year, and as they do they will be incorporated in the set. Exercises having a star with their number were taken from a compilation by Prof. Foster Strong, whose kind permission for their use is gratefully acknowledged. R. B. Leighton December 5, 1963."Leighton and Richard Feynman were close personal friends. After Richard's Lectures in Physics course, in the early 1960s, Leighton spent over two years reworking the tape-recorded text into publishable form: The Feynman Lectures on Physics, which were published in 1964 and 1966, and which have enjoyed perennial success ever since. In addition, he co-authored, with Robbie Vogt, a set of problems to accompany the Feynman Lectures. Exercises are arranged by chapter, with answers at rear. This copy appears to predate the co-authorship. Of possible interest to historians of the famous Feynman work.

The Exercises books are paperbacks the others are hardcovers. The paperback 'Exercise" books look almost as new. The three hardcovers show handling with wear & rubbing to edges & moisture marks to top edge of some pages of volume one & two. Volume one shows the most use and wear with some light smudges. In our 45 year bookselling experience of selling scholarly volumes, we have sold this set many times, but never with the 'exercise' volumes.
