Illustrated throughout with black-and-white photographic plates, the book emphasizes stylistic identification, period characteristics, and the cultural significance of domestic objects in American life. The book is in Very Good condition: clean, tight, and square, with gray cloth boards and black spine strip showing bright gilt lettering. Minor bumping at the lower corners and light shelf wear are present. The interior is clean and unmarked, with light, even toning typical of the period; illustrations remain sharp and well-preserved, and the binding is firm. The dust jacket is Good, complete but with significant edge wear, including chipping and losses along the top edge (notably at the spine and front panel), several tears, and visible tape repairs on the verso; creasing and rubbing are present, though the jacket remains intact and displays reasonably well.
