Text / Sprache: Englisch , Human-Computer Interaction. Volume 2: Communication, Cooperation and Application Design. (LEA Series in Human Factors) ,… HCI International '99 is the 8th conference in a series of major events related to research, development, and practice in human-computer interaction. HCI International '99 is held in Munich, Germany, August 22-27, 1999. The conference provides a major international forum for exchanging and discussing latest results and developments related to analyzing, designing, developing, applying, and evaluating information and communication technologies for work, leisure and personal growth. Under the general theme of Creating New Relationships, new links and synergies are explored between information technologies and their users, among people working together, and in the context of the rapidly evolving global information society. Four major areas are in the focus of the program: - Ergonomics and Health Aspects of Working with Computers - Human-Computer Interfaces - Organizational Aspects of Information and Communication Technologies - Communication and Interaction in Information Networks. The two-volume conference proceedings contain 540 papers from 30 different countries. The papers included in the program were selected on the basis of reviews done by the program committee members and by leading researchers organizing special sessions centered around topics of particular interest. The first volume "Human-Computer Interaction - Ergonomics and User Interfaces" begins with a set of papers related to health and ergonomics issues of the physical work environment. The major part of Vol. 1 is dedicated to contributions addressing novel concepts, techniques, and studies for user interfaces and interaction techniques. A number of papers in this volume present research in usability engineering as well as methods and processes for the design and development of user interfaces. Volume 2 "Human-Computer Interaction - Information, Communication, and Cooperation" puts the main emphasis on the informative and communicative aspects of computer use. A larger number of contributions is concerned with computer-supported cooperation using a wide variety of different techniques, . 1-4 ISBN 0805833927 Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 1700.
