A major figure in the world of fashion, the name Hubert de Givenchy alone embodies the quintessence of elegance, and much more broadly of the Grand Goût français. During his lifetime, he brought together an exceptional collection of 17th and 18th century furniture and works of art as well as masterworks from the modern era which he displayed in his various houses with the same high standards, the same creativity and the same sense of absolute refinement as those he demonstrated in his profession as couturier. Christie's has the great honour of organizing the sale of his exceptional collection of works of art from his last two last residences, the Hôtel d'Orrouer in Paris and the Manoir du Jonchet in the Loire valley.
