[c.1970]. 35pp. Fascimile reprint of the original 1728 publication about the history of the Bank of Scotland (established 1695). Book has gilt titles to upper board. Some minor wear to corners with a few stains to top of upper board and spine. Top/front edges rough-cut and lightly foxed. Mild foxing to endpapers. Overall in VG- condition with no inscriptions.

A reproduction of two 18th Century publications concerning the Bank of Scotland and the Royal Bank of Scotland. The first part has 54 pages.The second part, of a further 35 pages, is entitled 'Copy of a Signature for a New Bank', which, I believe led to the establishment in 1727 of The Royal Bank of Scotland.This facsimile is undated and the publisher is not stated. In the book is a compliments slip from 'The Treasurer and General Manager of the Bank of Scotland and The Cashier and General Manager of The Royal Bank of Scotland' dated Edinburgh August 1938, together with a business card of Mr William Whyte of The Royal Bank of Scotland. The presence of the compliments slip suggests a publication date of this facsimile as being 1938 which, given the appearance of the book seems unlikely.
