Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book serves as a spiritual guide, specifically tailored for young individuals embarking on their Christian journey. The author delves into profound theological concepts, exploring the attributes and perfections of God, including His majesty, wisdom, goodness, and eternal nature. Emphasis is placed on the importance of cultivating a deep reverence and unwavering devotion to God. The text is firmly rooted in the Christian tradition and draws extensively from scripture to illustrate its points. It reflects the theological discourses prominent during the early nineteenth century, where understanding God's nature and fostering personal piety were central themes. Readers are invited to contemplate the transformative power of faith, the significance of prayer, and the concept of Christians as pilgrims on Earth, journeying towards their eternal home in Heaven. The author underscores the significance of personal holiness, the mortification of sin, and the cultivation of virtues such as humility, resignation, patience, and contentment. Practical guidance is offered on various aspects of Christian living, including the choice of companions, marriage, family duties, Sabbath observance, and engaging with scripture. The book concludes by addressing the spiritual conflicts and sorrows faced by Christ's disciples, offering consolation and encouragement for their pilgrimage. Ultimately, this book seeks to inspire young Christians to embrace a life of deep devotion to God, recognizing that in doing so, they discover their own true and lasting well-being. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Published c. 1823, New York by the American Tract Society.465 pages. Text in English. Richly engraved frontis & half title protected by original tissue guard. Frontis depicts an elegantly dressed man contemplating in the moonlight night, half title an extended family interior scene with children before a bookcase full of books. Publishers period 1/4 leather binding, early cloth covers, smooth spine, gilt title lettering & bands, old institutional paper label on spine. Book is physically old (almost 200 years old to be precise) and shows some mostly gentle signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition, but it does survive much nicer than is typical for other books of this era. Looks nicer in person than screen pics might indicate. Binding gently age worn, leather rubbed with some old thin spine creasing, but still supple, joints slightly scuffed, remains overall attractive as an object. Text block paper is gently toned, light to moderate scattered age spotting, internally still well preserved, tight, sound. Still attractive on the shelf.
