Corgnale[1][2][3] (Lokev in sloveno) à un centro abitato del comune di Sesana, nel Carso sloveno, situato a pochi chilometri dal confine italo-sloveno nei pressi di Trieste. Nel corso dei secoli il nome del paese si riscontra in varie forme: Coronal[4], Cornial o Corniale[5] e Corgnale[6][7][8], utilizzate anche nelle fonti in lingua tedesca, assieme a Dorf Kornial[9] e ai toponimi del XVI secolo Hülben (1574) e Kornhalle (ossia "deposito di grano", ma pure evidente traslitterazione di Corniale). In un documento del 1304, relativo ad una riunione in cui era presente l'allora vescovo di Trieste Rodolfo Pedrazzani, l'abitato viene citato come Villa Chorgnalis. Nella seconda metà del Cinquecento compaiono i toponimi sloveni Lokow e Loqua. A partire dal 1872 à utilizzato per qualche tempo il nome Lokva (che affianca e precede Corniale/Cornial, utilizzato fino a quell'anno), che dal 1878 si consolida definitivamente in Lokev. Dal 1918 fino al 1947, sotto la sovranità italiana, Corgnale rimane l'unica denominazione ufficiale del paese. Col passaggio alla sovranità iugoslava dopo la seconda guerra mondiale, unico nome ufficiale diviene Lokev. Formato: Incisione in acciaio di misure 10x8 cm, foglio di misure 16x12 cm, entro passpartout di misure 30x25 cm.
