Erschien in einer Auflage von 3000 Exemplaren; daneben erschienen 150 nummerierte Exemplare mit einem Metalldruck Neschs. - Katalog zur Ausstellung im Detroit Institute of Arts, 18. März bis 27. April 1969. - In englischer Sprache. - Der Esslinger Künstler Rolf Nesch (1893 - 1975) hatte in Dresden studiert und das grafische Handwerk u.a. bei Kirchner in Davos gelernt. Anfangs vom Expressionismus stark beeinflusst, entwickelte er ab 1929 in Hamburg seine eigene Technik des ?Metalldrucks? In seiner Folge ?Hamburger Brücken? begann er, mit der Laubsäge ganze Flächen aus der Druckplatte auszusägen und ausgesägte Formen, Kupferdrähte oder Maschendraht auf die Platte aufzulegen. Beim Druck prägten diese Gegenstände dem Papier ein plastisches Relief ein. 1933 emigrierte Nesch nach Norwegen, wo er unter schwierigen Lebensumständen seine ?Materialbilder? entwickelte und auch in einen kurzen künstlerischen Austausch mit Kurt Schwitters trat, der 1937 ebenfalls nach Norwegen emigrierte. Seit 1951 hatte er einen festen Wohn- und Arbeitssitz auf einem Hof in Aal in Hallingdal. Beeindruckt von den gewaltigen Naturschauspielen, schuf er dort zahlreiche graphische Arbeiten wie ?Matte Sonne? oder ?Wind?, die er alle in zahlenmäßig reduzierter Auflage selbst druckte und zum Teil variierte, was sie in den Rang künstlerischer Originale hebt. 1955 erhielt er für seine grafischen Arbeiten einen Preis auf der III. Biennale in Sao Paulo. - Exemplar lichtrandig, sonst gut erhalten. 600 gr.
