In its original incarnation The Granta, founded in 1889 at Cambridge University, published the work of writers like A.A. Milne, Michael Frayn, Stevie Smith, Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath. In 1979, Bill Buford transformed Granta from a student publication to the influential literary quarterly it remains today (paraphrased from Granta website). Granta's contributors are a veritable who's who of contemporary writers. Publisher's pictorial wraps, as issued, in very good to fine condition with the majority of the issues being fine to new. Publisher's ephemera laid in throughout.
