It states that it has 224 illustrations and figures. The FEP is loose and the front board is barely attached, see photo. The back board is in better shape and still attached albeit with a gutter crack. There are two indexes, one purely general and the other for the many illustrations. 271pp of which 28 pages are indexes. xvi pp at end listing other books. This book attempts to introduce the public to DIY house building explaining excavation, draining , building in brick, stone and concrete, Smith's work brazing and soldering, wire-working and painting, glazing and paper-hanging and much more. There are illustrations throughout and the whole appears to be relatively detailed.
