Please find a lovely little guidebook for Italy titled: Country Walks About Florence by Edward Hutton. This book was written before it became popular to tour the Tuscan Hills and the many quaint towns thereabouts. If you are considering a trip to Tuscany this book is for you. This small flexible soft cover book (6 ½ x 6 ¾ inches 324 pages) was published by Charles Scribner s Sons dated 1908 with no mention of edition. It is bound in light blue covers with gilt titles on cover and spine. It is very well illustrated with 32 drawings by Adelaide Marchi and twenty other illustrations by various artists. There is a detailed map of the area around Florence on the front endpapers. Condition: This book is in very good condition. There has been some bumping to the hard covers but nothing severe. There is also a small brown spot in the lower right-hand corner of the front cover. Inside the book is unmarked but there is some staining to the endpapers and their maps doubtless from the acids of the binding glues. Otherwise, the pages are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound albeit a bit canted to the right. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
