Well-informed for his day and highly readable, Wragg is not afraid to add the odd wry touch. Describing one period he comments, "Heroes used the parachute or the balloon, cranks dreamed and spoke of heavier-than-air flight, children played with kites and toy windmills, while idiots tower jumped."
