With green cloth-covered boards ruled & lettered in black to front & spine, this 12mo is in VG+ condition: completely clean, pages heavily tanned, unmarked save for old gift inscription inside front cover. Binding strong& straight, both hinges secure. Very mild rubbing to extremities with crinkling to a bruised lower-outer corner of front cover. The price-clipped DJ is VG-: colorful & bright, but chipped & lightly creased at both ends of spine; nicely protected in clear mylar cover free! This VG+ quality book was copyrighted in 1932 and published by the Goldsmith Publishing Company; it is 7-5/8" tall with 247 numbered pages of text followed by 2 unnumbered pages of ads. It is a format #1, as per Mattson & Davis. This book--with red cloth binding and black lettering--is square, very clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings; the head and heel of the spine are lightly bumped, with slight color loss. The bottom edges have virtually no wear. The spine is not faded and is clean and the lettering is intact and not worn. The lettering on the front panel is also completely intact and not worn. Except for a home made check out slip glued on the rear paste down, the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. The text paper is heavily toned; the pages are still flexible and not at all brittle. There are no illustrations in this book. Both hinges are strong and the front one is not damaged in any way; the paper covering the rear hinge has torn and the upper half of the hinge cloth is exposed. The book has no remainder mark and is not a former library book. The series list at the rear of the book lists all 5 titles of this series. The VG- jacket is in one piece with little damage. It has tiny edge chips at the top front corner and at the head and heel of the spine and a 1/2" tear at the top of the front panel; however, the top portion of the spine, which I assume was originally a pale lavender like the front panel, is now faded to a medium gray. The rear panel lists all 5 books in this series.
