Some hand-written mathematical notation and correction have been made on numerous pages presumably by the proof reader or Titchmarsh himself. The title page is not present but I have identified the text from other copies of this book and the references to the first edition of 1946. The book was actually published in 1962, though the preface here is dated 1960, corrected to 1961.
