(Bridson & Wakeman Printmaking & picture printing A47; Levis Descriptive bibliography of books relating to. engraving p108-9) Levis notes that 'The [last] chapter [Books on Engraving] is brief and not very satisfactory, but all the others are of great interest', while Bridson & Wakeman note that the text of this work originally appeared as a series of articles in the ninth edition of Encyclopædia Britannica.
