Bound in contemporary dark brown calf with raised bands to spine. Edges are bumped and worn. Internally the pages are age tanned with scattered foxing, small tears and creases, but overall good. The binding is sound. Rear endpaper assumed missing. Front endpaper has previous owners' signatures and address, dated 1877. Previous owner's signature on frontispiece, dated 1856. p56 has an old ink word at page top. Numerous engravings, including a charming illustration of a beaver. 8vo. In very good condition for its age.
