This is a folio with hardcover boards holding 48 B&W loose plates which are photographs apparently printed using an aquatint photogravure method. The overall size of the plates is 12 3/4 x 9 3/4 inches [32.4 x 25 cm] The folio has paper covered boards, a cloth spine, held together with the original satin ribbon ties which are showing some age discoloration. Front board mostly clean [mild foxing stains]. Back board with more discolorations and moisture marks at top and bottom edges. All edges with a little shelf wear. Previous owner's book plate at endpaper. The condition of the plates ranges from near fine to very good-. All are intact, no tears, no creases, a few with small, mild corner bends. A few have minor foxing, some [about 15] with more obvious foxing but is mostly limited to the borders. The plates are printed photographs of Art Deco shop fronts and interiors in Paris, France. They include clothing stores, official buildings, car dealers, shoe stores, pharmacies and many others. Text is in French. The folio includes a four-page brochure in near fine condition with an introduction by R. H. and a numbered list of the plates with the name, location, and the architect of the businesses.
