He was honorably discharged in 1952 when his identity as the author of Quatrefoil became public. John (Giovanni) P. Pitcherale (1919?-1998) was a friend of The Boston Symphony Orchestra.  He is also listed as one of the principal correspondents in The Papers of Eleanor Roosevelt.
