First American edition of this very rare Inspector Brews mystery as he works to solve the murder of newspaper editor, Hay Smith at the estate of Sir James Sitheby. Vahey (1881-1938) was a prolific Anglo-Irish author who also published mysteries and suspense titles under the pseudonyms of Henrietta Clandon, John Haslette, Anthony Lang, John Mowbray, Walter Proudfoot, and George Varney.
