Marginal pencil strikes with some underlining (in pencil) on approximately 6 dozen of the 467 pages. One page (p. 11 of the inroduction) has a marginal note in pencil. Some notes in pencil to the front endpaper, with previous owners' names in ink to a) front free endpaper and b) copyright page. Endpapers, front and back, are split fully in the gutters, revealing the webbing, which in both instances remains intact; still, there is a slight wobble to the boards. Gilt lettering on the spine is rather faded; moderate wear at the extremities of the boards.
