Añadir al carritoFreda Bone Ilustrador. Book Condition - Like New: the book remains in the original condition as when published (1931). Small tears at the top and bottom of the dust jacket's spine (due to shelf wear/storage), but otherwise free from major marks, tears or rips. Now protected by plastic slip cover. Original blue cloth binding and gilt lettering across the spine, and title stamp into cloth, is mint. Clean text block. Internally, the book's pages are clean and tightly bound with crisp edges, and all woodcut illustrations are blemish free - never thumbed or opened. First Edition, 1931: As New, Unread. All woodcuts throughout remain mint and as new. Capstan Bars by David W. Bone is a classic collection of maritime short stories and sketches, renowned for their authentic and vivid portrayal of life aboard sailing ships and early steamships. Drawing on Bone's own extensive experience as a ship's officer, the book offers a powerful, evocative look at the hardships, camaraderie, humor, and dangers faced by seafarers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The narrative captures the soul of the sea and the traditions of the merchant service, making it a treasured piece of literature for anyone interested in the golden age of deep-water sailing and nautical life.
