Slightly rubbed, plates slightly foxed, but overall a nice clean tidy example in contemporary condition (Please see photos). Collated complete and correct. Would make a nice gift.

Publisher's hardback with gilt lettered spine and the original cost of the book blind stamped to the upper cover; head, tail, corners and joints moderately worn and rubbed, but still in very decent shape and showing well. Very slight parting at the front end-paper, nonetheless contents are tight and secure, no looseness, also very clean and tidy with no pen-marks and not from a library so no such stamps or labels. Size: 185mm x 110mm; collation: pp. [iv], 104, complete with hand-coloured frontispiece and 8 further hand-coloured plates, all of which are sharp and bright, no stains, no browning. Note: the title-page continues: With some Account of the History of the Science, by John Frost. Thus a very good copy of a scarce book, especially difficult to find in its original format.
