The complete first volume of the Saudi Medical Journal, one of the pre-eminent medical journals of the Arab world, magnificently and elaborately custom bound by the London luxury goods retailer Asprey & Co. in full morocco with a full morocco clamshell box, in pristine condition. It is unknown who this breathtaking copy of the Medical Journal was bound for, Asprey proudly display their Royal Warrant to Her Majesty The Queen on the presentation gift box, and this volume may indeed have been commissioned for a member of a notable royal family. Certainly no expense was spared in commissioning a binding of exquisite quality for the first volume of this significant publication from Saudi Arabia.

A comprehensive 175p priced catalogue printed on glossy art paper of sumptuous jewelry, leather wear, clocks and watches, ladies and gentleman's fitted dressing cases in gold and silver, books , shagreen and tortoiseshell boxes, blotters, lamps, furniture, motor mascots, kitchen utensils , silver and "Ideal Lighters" and etc and etc. There are 26 full page coloured plates labeled A to Z. Undated but diaries illustrated are 1926 - 1927. Bound in mock shagreen pattern boards which are slightly flared. Front hinge taped. Some marks to boards and one plate (M) is a little ragged on the free edge and has now been re affixed. Some corner wear and signs of handling. No other marks or signatures.
