The second of three volumes covering species historically treated as 'Pyralidae,' but now divided between the superfamily Thyridoidea and the families Pyralidae and Crambidae in the superfamily Pyraloidea. This volume encompasses all subfamilies in the Crambidae, except for the latter half of the Spilomelinae genera, starting with Glycythyma, which will be covered in Vol. Ill (expected in 2025). 452 named species and 386 unnamed morphotypes are included, encompassing all subfamilies of the Crambidae, except for the latter half of the Spilomelinae as mentioned above. Includes subfamilies Acentropinae, Crambinae, Cybalomiinae, Glaphyriinae, Hoploscopinae, Lathrotelinae, Musotiminae, Odontiinae, Pyraustinae, Schoenobiinae, Scopariinae and Spilomelinae. A significant proportion of the species included are economically important pests of rice, fruit, and stored products. This is an illustrated guide, not a taxonomic monograph. Identification is on the basis of external features only. Many images of morphotypes at or near the species level are included to give a starting point for those wishing to explore further the fauna of Borneo. Each Plate has rows of five images across and seven rows down (35 images per Plate). Plate Legends give the current scientific name, the author's name and the year in which the species was described, followed by a variety of data about the taxon and specimen. There are also 6 plates of live specimens showing resting postures. [9789838122085].
