He has pursued his M.A, M.Phil., Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad, India. His interdisciplinary research interests include democracy theories, social justice theories, the Indian Constitution, Subaltern theories, modern Indian thinkers, movements, the political economy of India, and Human Rights. He has authored two books: Interrogating Democracy and Human Rights: Telangana People's Movement (Rawat Publications, 2014) and Mapping Human Rights and Subalterns in Modern India (Kalpaz Publications/Gyan Books, 2016) and edited the book entitled "B.R. Ambedkar and Social Transformation: Revisiting the Philosophy and Reclaiming Justice" (Routledge Publications, London, 2021). Dr. Jagannatham has published articles in reputed journals like Economic and Political Weekly, Indian Journal of Political Science, GNLU Journal of Law, Development and Politics, The Liberal Studies Journal and Journal of Society and Politics, and has contributed chapters in edited books published by Oxford University Press and Springer Nature. He has completed an ICSSR Major Research Project.
