David Freund (born 1937) graduated from the Visual Studies Workshop, Rochester, and has taught at Pratt Institute and Ramapo College of New Jersey. He has had exhibitions at the Light Gallery, New York, and the George Eastman House, and he has received a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship and a CAPS grant. Freund's work is in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the BibliothEque Nationale, Paris, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC.
