Catalogue of a collection originally compiled by Eddy Novarro and his wife Nana Novarro de Crainova. Novarro was born in Bucharest and worked in the 1950ies as press photographer in Brazil. His wife was born in Berlin and started to collect art. In 1968 Nana de Crainova published a first catalogue of their collection (Arte Tibetana, Sao Paulo), in 1970 they made a journey to Ladakh, then not yet officially opened for tourists. 1972 part of the collection was shown in Berlin` Museum of Indian Art. Detailed description of 13 statues and 10 ritual objects from the Novarro collection (the thangkas published in the earlier catalogues seem to be no longer present). Before the death of Novarro, Dr. Gerhard Cromme (i.a. chairman of the board of ThyssenKrupp and chairman of the supervisory board of Siemens). Also in the catalogue are photos of other objects form the Cromme collection, several Gandhara heads, some additional Tibetan sculptures and Tsa Tsa, some Tsakli and seals, not the same quality as the Novarro collection.
