This first publication of an impressive annual volume devoted to model motor vehicles covers types ranging from single-seat racers, family and luxury cars. motor-cycles, vintage classics to huge trucks, buses and a variety of specialised machines. The models themselves range from relatively primative versions of contemporary early cars, through to kitsets, the popular small die-cast sets or the intricate and expensive perfect scale replicas for the serious collector. This excellent record of the history of the model market up to models produced at the beginning of the 1980s contains nine chapters including two dealing with new models, a collector's philosophy, a collector's mecca, kits for big kids and a 34 page world listing of model cars. Seven expert contributors compiled the textural chapters. However, it is the lavish collection of photographs, in colour and b/w, that will make this an outstanding reference for any collector in this field. The kits for "big kids" chapter is illustrated with instructive diagrams and drawings, Ian Norris edited this English edition --- the annual was also published in French. First edition of 1982, 168 pages, illustrated throughout with colour and b/w photos. Red hard covers with gilt front/spine titles are NF, light crease to FFEP, text block otherwise NF, no inscriptions. Colour pictorial DJ (featuring many models) is VG+ and not price clipped. This large and heavy book (1.4kgs unpacked) would require additional postage for international despatch.
