She describes in detail the animals and birds of the countryside and seashore, capturing the beauty of the rare and diverse wild flowers for which the Burren is so famous. She also speaks about her friends and neighbours and life in the village of Ballyvaughan. The quotations from poetry throughout the diaries reveal her emotional and poetic response to the special environment of the Burren. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition.
