It covers almost every aspect of karate; basic strikes like Gyaku-zuki (reverse punch) and Mawashi-geri (round kick); the basic blocks like Uchi-uke (inner block) and Jodan-uke (head block); every stance you could think of; the history of karate; infomation on stretching, balance and fitness; infomation on the many different weapons used in karat; and one thing that is nice is different ideas for layouts of circuit training. Many black and white photos are used to clearly illustrate what is being explained in the text underneath. The only thing that is missing is a section on kata but that is only becuase this book is meant as an overall introduction to all forms of karate and as kata is different from one style of karate to another they can't really list them all.
