In 2002, he was the first to describe the course of the famous Prokhorovka tank clash on a documentary basis, to publish previously unknown figures on the Red Army's armor losses in the tank battle of 12 July 1943, and to give his assessment of the results, which differed from that previously accepted in Russia.
