From an on-line posting: "A detailed chronology and analysis of the intelligence failures and successes of the Cuban Missile Crisis is provided. Kenneth Michael Absher was a Fellow with the Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs, the Bush School of Government at Texas A&M University. He retired from the ClA as a member of the Senior Intelligence Service, having served over 31 years. He provided direct intelligence support to the U.S. handling of Cold War events such as the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, the Vietnam War, the 1983 military and rescue operation in Grenada (Operation URGENT FURY), and the break-up of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact. From January 2003 to February 2005, Mr. Absher served on the Joint Terrorism Task Force. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice appointed Mr. Absher as the DCI representative to three Accountability Review Boards to investigate terrorist attacks in Iraq. The above information was current when the work was published by SSI." Very good. No dust jacket. Cover has slight wear and soiling.
