Many of these special treats the author found while in the company of his dogs, which brought to life unexpected happenings, especially from porcupines. And then there are the myriad seasons found in Vermont. The longest is winter, but there are some unexpected ones, such as Black Fly and T'aint Nothin'. Each season offers its own occurrences that add to the joy of experiencing Vermont, from praying for snow to watching it slowly drift away; to seeing jaundiced buds peak out in the spring to the luscious rainbow colors of Vermont's foliage - we are blessed. And those blessings are vividly described in the seasonal sections in the poem aptly named, "Seasons of Vermont." Living in Vermont has brought joy and peace, and sharing these with the reader is the author's fondest wish.
