It was published posthumously by her father, who sought to preserve her legacy. The author, whose name is not explicitly stated, lived a humble but virtuous life, finding solace and inspiration in literature, particularly the works of Mr. Pope. Her poetry, infused with a blend of wit, sincerity, and sentimentality, reflects the literary sensibilities of her time, drawing upon classical themes and engaging with contemporary social concerns. The book includes a touching dedication to her father, a collection of her poems on various subjects, and a list of subscribers who supported the publication of her work. Through her words, the author offers a glimpse into the life of a woman of talent and grace struggling for recognition in a society where opportunities for women were limited.
