The author argues that early Christian writers were heavily influenced by the philosophies of Plato and Philo and that as a result, Christian doctrine was shaped by these pagan traditions. However, this book also discusses the ways in which Christian writers departed from these pagan traditions, creating a new and distinct Christian philosophy. This book contributes significantly to our understanding of the development of Christian thought.
