The author examines historical examples of nations that have fallen into tyranny because of standing armies, and argues that this is an inevitable outcome of such a system. The author also discusses the specific dangers of a standing army in England, and concludes by calling for the disbandment of the English army. The book is a valuable contribution to the literature on the dangers of tyranny and the importance of liberty. It is a well-written and persuasive argument that should be read by anyone interested in these topics.
