This book is an extensive and updated inventory of parish registers available as of the book's publishing date, serving as a companion volume to the author's 1900 publication of "A List of Parish Registers." The expanded compendium contains details of parish registers located in various counties throughout England, and provides coverage of church registers in Scotland, Wales, the Channel Islands and a select number of churches in Europe. Specific topics include christenings, marriages, and burials. Also of note are the records of dissenting and nonconformist congregations, along with private and proprietary chapels. The book offers a comprehensive overview of parish registers, and it remains a significant reference tool for genealogists delving into their family history.
