Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book is a collection of President Buckham's writings prefaced by an outline of his lifework and appreciations. The man was a complex, well-rounded individual and his work was equally diverse, including addresses, lectures, and sermons. Buckham's life and work took place at a time of great change in America - the Civil War, the rise of modern education, and the growth of cities. He sought to understand and grapple with the social issues of his day in his writings. This volume is an effort to present a representative collection of President Buckham's writings - a thoughtful and stimulating read for anyone interested in this era or in the work of one of Vermont's most distinguished citizens. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
