This book examines a hundred and fifty references to the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) found in the New Testament (Greek Scriptures), affirming the presence of the Jewish Bible in the text of the Christian Bible. The author presents a multitude of perspectives on these references, drawn from the versions of the Old Testament that were in use during the first century. Highlighting the ways that early Christians engaged with Jewish scripture, and the literary practices they employed, this book underscores the deep intertextual connection between the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament. These comparisons provide a richer understanding of both canons, shedding light on the religious ideas being developed in the New Testament.
